recent korea tv drama that i watched

Recently, I watched a lot of TV drama. Here are some of those that I like :)

Iljimae 一枝梅
I love this drama. Although the beginning story is a bit slow, but it gets more and more interesting. I think Lee Joon Ki did an excellence job acting as the character Iljimae. Thumb up for him :)

Cast
Lee Joon Ki as Iljimae / Yong / Lee Geom
Han Hyo Joo as Eun Chae
Lee Young Ah as Bong Soon
Park Shi Hoo as Shi Hoo / Ja Dol

Synopsis
Set during the Joseon Dynasty, Ryung acts as a useless gangster in the marketplace by day but at night he is a chivalrous robber who robs corrupt government officials to give to the poor. After each robbery he leaves behind a wooden branch from a plum tree at the site of the robbery to take responsibility for the robbery. The poor citizens only know him as Iljimae. Bong Soon is a hilarious girl with good martial art skills and lives as a swindler. She only loves Ryung and sacrifices her whole life for him. Eun Chae is a government official's daughter and is good in nature and usually helps miserable people. She meets Iljimae once by chance, and their sweet love story begins. However, her love puts Iljimae in a dangerous situation because an Imperial Guard also loves her.

Hong Gil Dong 快刀洪吉童
Storyline is quite similar to Iljimae but the feel is different. I prefer Jang Geun Seok than the main cast Kang Ji Hwan.

Cast
Kang Ji Hwan as Hong Gil Dong
Sung Yu Ri as Heo Lee Nok
Jang Geun Suk as Lee Chang Hwui
Kim Ri Na as Seo Eun Hyo

Synopsis
Based on a fictional book about a Robin Hood in Korea,Hong Gil Dong, this drama is very loosely based off of that book and the time it was set in. Hong Gil Dong is the bastard son of a minister. He spends most of his time lazing the day away and taking goods from the various merchants. However, a local monk think he’s destined to be more. Hong Gil Dong, for his part, really dislikes the injustices in this ranked world. Heo Yi Nok has returned to Korea, fresh from China. She’s an upbeat, naive and carefree girl. She’s been living with her grandfather for the last few years. They both are merchants looking to make a fortune back in Korea. Lee Chang Hwi, however, has been told since he was young that he’s the rightful king of Korea. He bumps into Heo Yi Nok. This initially causes misunderstanding between them, but over time his heart is softening towards her. Meanwhile Heo Yi Nok and Hong Gil Dong are developing a friendship that feels like (at least to Yi Nok) that it could be more. As the question of rightful succession comes into play, Hong Gil Dong and Yi Nok are forced to take sides.
